I can’t afford one.
Thanks for reading

Which organs did you have to sell?

remove that island, and you got a splendid garage!

Wolf if overpriced, Viking is the way to go.

Slash poker lounge.

That wolf range is worth more than both my cars combined.
Okay they aren’t THAT expensive.

Dat stove doh, and dat fridge.
Seriously expensive. My wife wants a kitchen like that in our house. I want a garage with 4 bays.
my wife will probably win...

If you have room in the garage for a poker table, you need more tools or projects

Aren’t those busy tile backsplashes passe yet?
Nice stove anyway, save for all the crap that will roll under it.

Uniform blue or green glass backsplash with white grout is the hip new trend now.
![]() 11/23/2016 at 16:03 |

If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn’t want one.

I would like to be gifted one — certainly never to buy one.

We had a customer who turned his 4th garage bay into a poker room with a little bar and everything. I thought it was a mother in law unit at first.

How edgy. And in 20 years, those with money from who knows where will gut it and start over.
Give me something old fashioned, like the Driving miss Daisy kitchen - appliances that will outlive us all:

We did a quick calculation on a kitchen remodel and decided season ski passes and a new mountain biker were a better way to spend our money.

Sell Tercel, buy a single cabinet, done?

We have an industrial stove in our kitchen... I hate it.
Cleaning it is a project and a half, fuck that.
![]() 11/23/2016 at 16:15 |

I want to cook in that kitchen.
![]() 11/23/2016 at 16:19 |

White grout is for people who don’t cook. Mine is getting black grout, because I actually use my kitchen.

What would Doggo think?
We redid our floors when we bought our house, went with hardwood knowing full well we wanted a lab and kids - all the sales people insisted we get laminate but we wanted hardwood. Finally we met one who had dogs and he said yes the floors will get scratched - the plus side is you have a dog though.

I dream of a modernized rustic Italian villa kitchen
And of course the Villa to go with it. Something like this, but maybe a little more grand and on the sea

That kitchen is an ergonomic nightmare for a family or if more than one person is cooking.

If it makes you feel better, the food tastes the same.

I never realized I was so stylish, or my wife I should say as she designed our kitchen remodel. Our grout is not white but “delorean grey” and yes I picked that because of the name.

Fancy kitchens are like divorces. The reason they cost so much is that they’re worth it.

Less than 20 years. Kitchens are the height of planned obsolescence. Mine still has the original wood cabinets from 1962, and they’re in perfectly fine shape, because they’re cabinets, cabinets don’t really have shelf lives or wear out or anything. But, every ten years, the powers that be decide to change what’s in fashion, and tell everyone to rip out everything they just put in and redo it all.
Kitchens are supposed to be utilitarian, functional spaces anyway.

And you have brushed nickel ladder pulls... Gimme dat kitchen.

At least this house is new construction, I suppose.

Many of them are too damn big to really be usable. Have to fun a freaking marathon to make a meal. I guess that’s the maid’s problem though.

Winco?

That’s exactly what we have. And here I thought it was original and timeless :(

My grandma lives in a house like that - over 60 years old, original owner, typical mid century rambler style. Mostly original finishes everywhere, it all held up, and it looks like new. A few years ago she mentioned she’d put in a new kitchen, but can’t justify the expense. I told her to never touch it, it is perfect as-is, and some people will want the maple cabinets with pastel green countertops now.
![]() 11/24/2016 at 13:32 |

I bought one, the countertops alone were $10k.

I like the backsplashes, but the counter tops should provide more contrast.

One of my favorite films. Akroid doesn’t act as poorly as usual in that one, but that’s only a small part of why I like it.

“cars don’t behave, they are behaved upon”. Wonderful film, with cars carrying a big role too.

Good point. fun soundtrack and worthwhile social commentary as well.
